Thread: Information about Comodo Code-Signing

Defeating a vendor's licensing mechanism (and, I assume, violating the
license agreement) is a little shadier of a practice than I would be
willing to entertain, unless they went out of business.

With regard to the EV certificate, I like that it's on a USB token.
Nobody's going to steal my certificate by hacking my machine over the
internet. They'll have to steal it from my desk or safe.<g>

BTW - the company who does the backup service uses a hardware fingerprint
of the machine as a part of the data sent to them.

They don't charge again if you get a new machine (or want to install in a
new VM), but you do have to go through the process each time.

This at least ensures that if someone tried to copy the protected software
(and the driver) off your machine that it would not work elsewhere.

Hold up on that thought. I got another email from Sectigo for more
    stuff to try in VM.

OK. I can now see it in the VM. At the bottom of the VMWare window,
there is an icon created with a tooltip of "Alladin Knowledge Token
JC". You can unplug from the host and and "plug it in" to the VM from
    there.

Next step is seeing if I can get it working in SB.
