Thread: Installation turniung off file and print sharing

  1. #1

Default Installation turniung off file and print sharing

I have a user complaining that my installs turn off their file and print sharing losing all their mapped drives.

The only disable options I have set on the advanced tab are Disable File Protection Check and Disable Screen Saver.

Any ideas what I am running into?

    Thanks.

    Hi Bob,

SetupBuilder does definitely not disconnect network drives! Only if you use the "Map/Disconnect Network Drive..." script function.

Disable File Protection just means that the installer does not check for protected system files before doing an unpack operation.

SetupBuilder can't turn off file and printer sharing (there is no built-in function in SB to do this) and does not disconnect mapped drives.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Friedrich. That is what I thought as this is the only customer that "continues" to complain about it.
