Well, the technically correct answer is that you can't use the Registry in this case.
As a workaround, we developed the following method (but it's really not recommended).

I know that quite a few users are still using the above Vista workaround, but (IMO) we all should follow the new Vista "rules".
What you can do is to write such information to a file and store it in a folder that is accessible and writable by all users.
