Default SetupBuilder Insight #3 - New Visualizers and new Functionality

Over the next few weeks I'll provide some insight as to what is 'in the
    works' for SetupBuilder.

Insight #3 - New Visualizers and new Functionality

SetupBuilder offers two authoring environments. One environment is the
Visualizer, which guides developers through creating an installer quickly.
The other environment is the Script Editor, which provides much finer
    control over installer functionality.

SetupBuilder 7 will provide brand new Visualizers and new functionality:

    - Environment Variables Visualizer

The Edit Environment Variable function is already available in SetupBuilder
6 and lets you add and remove environment variables. In SetupBuilder 7 the
functionality is also available through the Environment Variables
    Visualizer.

    - Firewall Exceptions Visualizer

The Windows Firewall that is included with Windows XP SP2 and later,
controls which applications and ports on the destination computer can accept
incoming traffic from the Internet or a network. The Firewall Exceptions
feature (available as script function and Visualizer) lets you specify
application files and ports to be added to the Windows Firewall exception
    list during installation.

    - IIS Configuration Visualizer

The IIS Configuration feature (available as script function and Visualizer)
can create Web folders, virtual directories, and Web sites, and add files to
    them.

    - Run SQL Scripts Visualizer

The Run SQL Scripts feature (available as script function and Visualizer)
lets you run Microsoft SQL Server Scripts as part of your installation.

    - SoftDefense Support Visualizer

SoftDefense (developed by Charles Edmonds) ****yzes your Armadillo project
files and creates an intelligent interface to them. Then it assists you in
building a developer friendly bridge to the Armadillo environmental
Name/Value pairs. SetupBuilder will have complete control of Armadillo
during a build of your installer. This means that you no longer need batch
files or have to rely on not missing a failed application of the shell and
accidentally shipping an unprotected program. SoftDefense will verify each
and every protected file and provide statistical data to SetupBuilder for
    inclusion in the build report.

    - PAD Creation Visualizer

PAD is the Portable Application Description, and it helps authors provide
product descriptions and specifications to online sources in a standard way,
using a standard data format that will allow webmasters and program
librarians to automate program listings. PAD saves time for both authors and
    webmasters.

The PAD Creation feature (available as script function and Visualizer) lets
you create PAD files as part of the installation generation process.

    - Merge Modules Visualizer

Merge modules (.msm) are a feature of Windows Installer that provide a
standard method for delivering components, insuring that the correct version
of a component is installed. A merge module contains a component, such as a
..dll, along with any related files, resources, registry entries, and setup
    logic.

The Merge Modules Visualizer feature lets you convert standard pre-packaged
third-party merge modules (.msm) into native Windows Installer runtime
    installer for SetupBuilder.

    - Mobile Devices Visualizer

The Mobile Devices Visualizer lets you specifically target installations for
Pocket PC Windows Mobile and Windows CE .NET mobile devices.
