Thread: C9 and C++ redistributables

    Default C9 and C++ redistributables

    Hi Friedrich,

    It seems to me that the C9 (and C7, C8, etc) installers keep telling me
    that the C++ (2005, 2008) redistributables need to be installed, even if
    I have already installed them with a previous C7/8/9 install. Is this
    correct observation? I'm just curious as it smells like the distro's
    haven't been installed since it keeps asking me I know the IDE works
    without any problems so it's not looking for those old files (maybe
    because I have VS 2005/8/10 installed?)

    I'm rebuilding my old laptop and the installation of the distro's is
    failing on it, but it is busy with some other things, so I'm not
    panicking yet

    Best regards,

    Yes and no <g>. It depends on your Clarion version and build number. You
    need specific C++ 2005/2008 redistributables for C9.x. But old Clarion 7
    and 8 installs (and Clarion 9 installs older than September 2013) do *not*
    support the new required redistributables (security updates).

    You can check the status for your C9.1 environment with Clarion Manager. It
    displays the C++ 2005/2008 redist status.

    Thanks for the clarification. I installed something recently that
    required VC++ 2010 redistribution which I haven't seen required before.

    I'm just thinking about this as I have some VC dlls that I'll need to
    distribute/redistribute and need to figure out what I need to include in
    the SB script.

    Thanks, will check it out
