What is the file size limit for ZIP command in an SB Script?

There seems to be a limit to the size of file that the ZIP command can handle.
Trying to ZIP a text file which is 2,710,212KB results in a popup message that reads:

ZIP
Could not open for reading:
{full_file_name}

This happens with versions "2019 - 10.0.6976" and "2023 - 11.0.7684".

What is the exact file size limit?

the original PKZIP 2.04g file and archive format limit is 2GB.
